Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

This policy is provided by Damian Mason, operating as Sapient Technologies (United States). DisplayingArt ("the app") is a slideshow viewer for artwork hosted on DeviantArt. This page explains what data the app handles and why.

What the app does not do

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. It does not collect or sell your data. It only sends data to another party when you explicitly tap Share, and only the artwork's title and link are included — never your account, device, or usage data. There is no account system of its own — the only sign-in is DeviantArt's, which is optional.

What's stored, and where

Everything the app stores lives only on your own device, in your browser's local storage. Nothing described below is sent to us or to any server we control:

All of this persists until you clear your browser's site data (or uninstall the app, for the packaged store versions) — there's no separate "delete my data" request to make, since nothing above is stored on our servers to begin with.

What passes through our server

Because DeviantArt's API doesn't allow direct browser access, the app routes two kinds of requests through a small serverless relay we operate: the OAuth token exchange, and read-only artwork requests (browsing tags, galleries, Daily Deviations, etc.). This relay forwards each request to DeviantArt and returns the response. Our relay's own code does not log, store, or inspect the contents of your requests, tokens, or artwork data. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may separately retain standard infrastructure-level logs (e.g., timestamps, response codes, source IP addresses) for a limited period, as described in Netlify's privacy policy.

Third parties

When you sign in, you're redirected to DeviantArt's own login page and authenticate directly with them under their privacy policy. If you use the app's share feature, it hands off to whichever service you pick (e.g. your device's share sheet, or a social network's own share page) — we don't see or log what you share.

Permissions

The app may ask to use your device's clipboard (to copy a link) or share sheet (to hand a link to another app) — both only when you tap a share button, and both are standard browser features rather than app permissions. The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location access.

Children's privacy

This app is not intended for children and is not designed for anyone under 13. It also includes an optional toggle that can surface mature-rated artwork; enabling it requires that mature content already be permitted on the DeviantArt account you sign in with, per DeviantArt's own age and content policies. Do not enable this setting if you are a minor or are supervising a minor's use of this app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Material changes will be reflected in the app's store listing.
